Photography has been a huge part of my life since I was a kid and its been getting more and more important over the last few years. When I got into rock climbing back in 1995, I drooled over all the great photos in the magazines and I always wanted to get one of my pics published. This was way before digital took hold and everyone was shooting slide film for the magazines. I was too poor to get the gear and the film plus the processing. Once I started to get real good digital cameras, I wasn't going climbing as much but then I got the "adventure bug" from sites like advrider [link].

travel by motorcycle to far off lands got me excited so I bought a bike and started wandering. I ended up taking some pretty cool shots with my cheap point and shoot digitals but this last fall I decided to step up and try to see what I had in my, as far as photo talent goes. I bought a nice DSLR and I'm working on getting a nice lens or two for it. I may also try my hand at wedding photography and portraits, just to help feed the hobby. My new goal is to be published in one of the major motorcycle magazines within the next couple years.

Christmas is fast approaching and like most people, I'm stressed. I'm not big on the buying presents thing, not that I'm that cheap, its just I never know what to get. Spent all day in town today and battled the crazy traffic and didn't buy a damn thing. Also, I happened to walk through the camera section at Best Buy and saw the camera I just bought in October for $999 is now $699. Them bastiges!! Things really arent that bad, I just hate shopping for the holidays.

Photography - I've been looking all over for a good windmill to take pics of. There are alot of them around here but the are usually in somebodies yard so it makes it tougher. Today I happened to glance down a road not more that 2 miles from my house and saw one right along the road, without a house near it. Its also in a great spot for sunset photos, so I know my next project!

Thinking alot about the upcoming year and possible trips. CharmedIreland and I are going to make several trips to Chicago to take pics and check the place out, I'm pretty excited about that. I have a few motorcycle ice races that I'm going to shoot also, that may be interesting.
